"Lest We Forget" - Thursday, October 10, 2019
7:00 PM
Faith Presbyterian Church
After raising more than $6,500 in September 2017 for recovery efforts in the aftermath of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, we’re now organizing a concert called “Lest We Forget.” With the help of the region’s musicians, we’ll raise funds to support the work of the Florida Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Network (FLAPDAN) and its network partners in the lengthy recovery process following Hurricane Michael’s devastation in the central Panhandle. 100% of all concert donations will be directed to FLAPDAN for its efforts to help our neighbors with their extensive recovery.
To help understand the long haul ahead for residents of the central Panhandle, the last of the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance volunteers left the final Katrina site early in 2019 - Katrina struck in 2005. View the photos below to get an idea of where residents began and where they had yet to go just a few months into recovery.
Soloists and small ensembles are invited to sing or play in support of this effort. To make your interest known, please click HERE.
Not a soloist and not in a small ensemble? At the close of the concert, a variety of participants from the concert and community-at-large will join in a massed choir to sing two pieces of encouragement and joy, conducted by Guest Conductor Dr. Michael Hanawalt (FSU College of Music) and Artistic Director Dr. Linda Lovins (Music with a Mission). Music will be provided by Music with a Mission and a massed-choir rehearsal will be held on:
Sunday, Oct. 6 - 2:00-4:00 (Massed-choir rehearsal)
Faith Presbyterian Church (sanctuary)

Massed Choir Music:
